Staff Spotlight: Anatalia!
Anatalia started as an office volunteer for Innovative Changes before joining our team in February as our Financial Coaching Coordinator. She helps our clients get matched up with our trained volunteer coaches. She also helps out during tax time by introducing tax payers to the services Innovative Changes has to offer. We are amazed by all the positive energy she brings to our office and are excited to have her on our team!
What drew you to this Financial Coaching Coordinator position at Innovative Changes?
After a short time period of volunteering, it was brought to my attention by Rachell Hall that there was a job opening. Naturally, with a friendly staff of hardworking individuals, I eagerly accepted the job. Considering all the energy I retain, I needed an outlet to share it with!
What were you doing before joining IC$?
Growing up in an art gallery, I transitioned into fashion. I ended up working in a wholesale children's clothing line showroom for a company called Lola Jo Sales Group, which entailed many trade show involvement. Aside from that, I also worked for a Manhattan photographer styling models for his shoots.
Where are you originally from and what brought you to Portland?
I was born and raised in Portland; however, have lived a few places including Fort Collins, Colorado - New York City, New York and Columbus, Ohio.
What does financial empowerment mean to you?
Getting a hold of your financial situation regarding: budgeting, saving, stability with income, building credit, and overall being fiscally organized. To be aware and in control of finances.
What are you most excited about in your new position?
Learning! Being that I’m so young, I’m hoping to benefit from what Innovative Changes has to offer. I believe this job will help me with “do’s and don’ts”, what I need to be looking for and doing to ensure I can maintain a financially stable future.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Every weekend since I’ve started here I’ve gone on a short vacation out of state. I truly have a travel bug. But, I also enjoy all creative pursuits. I actively write everyday, study history of art, maintain artist friends that I regularly visit with, title myself as a music fanatic (but not country, sorry), and appreciate all things fashion.
